StoryA routine love tale, the story begins with Venkatesh (varun) who is a fun loving guy and good at heart. Though he is mischievous and brat like, responsibility is something he does not know. However, when he gets his granny (sakuntala) admitted into the hospital, he meets Madhumita (vimala) who takes care of an old age home. Venkat falls for Madhu at the first sight and from then on works his way to win her heart. Meanwhile, he misunderstands a message from his friend and uses his intelligence to cause trouble. This gets complicated and just when Madhumita completely falls in love with Venkat, the truth is revealed and she hates him. However, Venkat decides to make up for his mistake. What is that mistake? Does Madhu accept Venkat after that? All this forms the rest of the story. PresentationThe director has come up with a routine storyline and though the presentation was okay, the narrative lacked the strength. The dialogues were okay, the script had few loose ends, the screenplay was alright. Music and background score were just average and only two songs are neat. Cinematography was good in capturing the angles but it could have been a it slow during the songs. Editing was standard. The art department was alright and the costumes were trendy. Varun Sandesh had a major role to play in this one and he has done justice to his part, Vimala Raman looked seductive and she has it all in her to make it big. The rest of the cast did their bit as required. Anu Haasan was elegant, Giri Babu was graceful, Ali and Venu Madhav managed few laughs, Reshmi looked ravishing, Kota was brief, Rahul had a scene or two, the others just came and went. ConclusionThe film attempts to come across as a romantic treat but then it must be said that there is not much connection between the title and the story. While the full first half is spent on some weak comedy track and a rather stale romantic scene, the second half gets into the plot and there are few ups and downs. However, the film manages to grab the attention of the audience as the feel was missing. Weak comedy and few flaws in the narrative caused the film to lose the punch and it must be said that this will barely reach the success mark.

RGV’s Adavi postponed

Ram Gopal Varma's bilingual thriller, Adavi, starring Nitin and Priyanaka Kothari has been postponed to August 7th.The film was to be released on July 24th. But since a lot of films, like Love Aaj Kal, Luck etc, are being released in Bollywood during this period he has decided to postpone it to August 1st week.The Hindi version, Agyaat and the Telugu version, Adavi would hit the screens only on August 7th. Balakrishna’s ‘Bhishma’ to have three heroines

Pooja for Balakrishna’s new film Bhishma was formally held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at producer Bellamkonda Suresh’s office. Bhishma is being directed by Ramesh Varma of Ride and produced by Bellamkonda. The film will have three heroines, Bellamkonda revealed. “We are yet to finalize the other star cast. We will have big launch ceremony on June 29th. On that day, I will announce the heroine’s names and also the release date of the movie,” he informed. He also said he is happy to produce this film with Balakrishna. “This is my third film with him after Chennakeshava Reddy and Lakshmi Narasinha. I loved the script narrated by Ramesh Varma. He told this one even before he narrated Ride’s script but we started the latter one. It is going to be more action oriented flick,” he added. He also said that film is nothing to do with Late NTR’s classic Bhishma. "This is not mythology film. It is pure action entertainer," he stated.

I learnt a lot from Tollywood

For Sneha Ullal who is considered a ‘clone’ of Aishwarya Rai, Bollywood is no more a viable choice and Tollywood is “home”. The 23-year-old Ullal who is three-films-old here claims that it is the Telugu film industry that taught her everything she knows about showbiz.“I was born in Muscat and my lifestyle is different from the one here. I learnt a lot from Tollywood. I like the way this industry works, the people are warm. Moreover, the roles are encouraging. So, I am doing more films here than elsewhere,” says Sneha, who also has Kannada and Hindi films in her kitty.Talking about the big, bad world of Bollywood, she says, “To survive in Bollywood, you need to be a lot more shrewd, smart and cold. I was just 17 when I did my first movie there. It was Tollywood that gave me a chance to prove that I can act.”Sneha is also ready to set shop here and camp in Hyderabad from now on. “I’m planning to buy a house and settle down here. It will be convenient for filmmakers too since it will save them the trouble of flying me down from Mumbai every time,” she says.She may be a current favourite, thanks to the fair skin and light-eyed fixation the industry has. But, acting has never been the forte of Ullal who is often brushed off as a expressionless “glam doll”. “Yes, I have to improve on my dance, dubbing and emotional scenes,” she admits. “But if someone calls me a glam doll, I’d take it as a compliment,” says Sneha in her defence.The actress also adds that she is looking for roles that are “hatke”. “I’ve realised that my roles are getting monotonous. Sushanth has come up with his new venture ‘Current’ and how much voltage he has been able to generate with the audience and also with Sneha Ullal, let us see.
StorySushanth (Sushanth) is a happy go lucky who believes in the present and does not care about the future. He falls in love at first sight with Sneha (Sneha) and from then on chases her. Sneha falls in love with him but her father (Charanraj) is not too confident about Sushanth given his carefree and irresponsible nature. Sushanth does not listen when Sneha tries to explain the same. So she asks Sushanth to take away the love that he has created in her heart. What happens from there forms the rest of the story. Hoe he takes that away and what happens in climax forms the Current!!!!
PerformancesSushanth has improved in his dance and body language but he still needs to work on his expressions. Hardly he is able to give 4-5 expressions and he seems to be over conscious about his mouth. He should come out from that to give the best.
Sneha Ullal gave her glamorous presence and though she has those blank expressions at times, she still looks cute and sensuous.
Tanikella was ok in his role, Charanraj was underutilized, Vennela Kishore managed few laughs, Brahmanandam was abrupt, Reshmi looked a stunner and she has shown good potential, Raghu Babu was impressive, Shafi was alright and the others did not have much to contribute.
The dialogues were weak, the script was alright and the screenplay was acceptable. Background score was okay and two songs are worth taking home. Other tunes of Devi Sri Prasad seem to be taken from his old stock tunes. They are insipid and pale. Cinematography was up to standard and editing was crisp. The production values of the film were of high scale and the costumes and art department did a neat job.
Analysis The film comes across with a concept on love but then it is the narrative that kind of got complicated in conveying it. Apparently, there is a lack of continuity in the scenes and though the second half had few moments of intensity, the feel has been missing.
Comedy could have worked really better had the makers focused a bit. Brahmanandam came with a good entry but his exit was unknown and dull. Raghu Babu and Shafi managed good comedy but that was not worked for long. Lack of strength in dialogues and not very high caliber music from Devi Sri also were some key elements. However, the youth audience will go through a roller coaster ride of emotions and if only the makers looked at working on pulling the chords like ‘Tholi Prema’ ‘Ullasanga Utsahanga’ then it would have been a runaway hit.
First half is dull and second half gripped some emotions but the run couldnt pull crowds on to screen.
The success of this film will run on publicity and fate and nothing else.

3 Crores set for ‘Ek Niranjan’

The shooting of Prabhas’s latest film ‘Ek Niranjan’ in the direction of Puri Jagannadh is under brisk progress. Bollywood hot beauty Kangana Ranaut is making her debut in Tollywood with this film. Aditya Ram is producing the film under Aditya Ram Movies banner. Mani Sharma is scoring the music for this film. A huge set costing Rs 3 Cr was erected in 8 acres open space at road No. 25, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

Speaking about the film producer Aditya Ram said: “Art director Chinna erected a huge set which resembles areas some areas in Hyderabad such as four roads near Clock Tower, Hanuman Temple, and Dhobi Ghat. He also constructed hero and heroine’s houses. We shot a song on Prabhas and Kangana Raunat in four different sets in Annapurna Studios. The film crew is going to Switzerland on 18th June to shoot a couple of songs on the lead pair. The final schedule of the film will be started in July in Bangkok and continues for about a month”.

Puri Jagannadh said: “As of now, the movie has winded up its 50 percent of the shooting. It is a complete commercial entertainer with high technical values. Prabhas’ performance and Kangana’s glamour is asset for this film”

Susant made his debut as a hero through the film 'Kalidas'. Presently his film "Current" is ready for release. Sneha Ullal is heroine opposite hero Susant in this film. Surya Pratap is the director and Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao, Naga Suseela are the joint producers. Preparations are being made to release this movie "Current" on June 19. In this context, they have arranged a press meet with regard to the publicity of the film. Story

A teen treat, the story is about two young lads, while one is the college going Mahesh (tanish) who also joins Kapil Chit fund as a collection agent just so that he can help his retired father (kasi viswanath), the other one is Arjun (nani) another college student whose only objective in life seems to be owning a bike. However, his father (ahuti prasad) is keen on saving money than spending on a bike. Mahesh's boss (brahmanandam) insists that he must take a bike so that the job goes smoothly and so Mahesh's mother (thulasi) takes loan and gives bike to her son. The story takes a turn when Mahesh loses his bike one day and he happens to find it with Arjun. A rivalry of sorts starts between both and what follows is the ride of experiences and challenges that both of them go through which is bound to change their lives. On the romantic side, Mahesh is in love with Rani (swetha Basu) while Arjun falls for Pooja (aksha).

Presentation

The director has come up with a pumped up teen concept and though the narrative has been a bit weak, he managed to score on the presentation aspect. The dialogues were written with energy, the script was handled well and the screenplay was apt. music played its own impact and the songs were good, equally efficient was the camerawork that captured the chase and action sequences very well. Editing was required during the second half and the contribution by the costumes and art department was good enough. Coming to the cast, both Tanish and Nani came up with good performances but then Tanish has to grow more so that he can suit action roles, Nani needs to be natural with his act so that he does not become monotonous. While Aksha has been good enough with her beauty and sweet smiles, Swetha mixed it up with a touch of acting too. The comedy track was not impressive and despite the presence of big names like Ahuti Prasad, Kasi Viswanath not much happened from them. The saving grace was the chemistry between Brahmanandam and Praveen which worked on the comedy aspect. Thulasi was effective.

Conclusion

The film has been made with good dose of entertainment and sufficient elements that will keep the youth pepped up. While the first half goes about with the regular college tales of romance, fights and other issues, it is the second half when things get really fast paced and though the climax looks a bit lengthy, it culminates to a smooth ending. The film would have been a lot better if the makers focused on putting more stress on comedy. Overall, this is a treat for the college going stuff and those bike crazy boys. Not much for the mass audience or the grown ups.

Gopichand-Trisha’s film titled ‘Sankham’

The shooting of the film starring Gopichand and Trisha in the lead roles is under brisk progress. The title 'Sankham' is in the consideration for this film. Gopichand is always fascinated with two letters titles ending with zero. His previous films 'Jayam', 'Varsham', 'Yagnam', 'Ranam', 'Lakshyam', and 'Showryam' are proved to be good hits.

Cameraman-turned-director Siva, who earlier directed 'Showryam' with Gopichand is directing the movie. J Bhagavan and J Pulla Rao are jointly making the film under Balaji Cine Media banner. Taman is scoring the music for this flick.

Tamil actor Satyaraj is playing the role of Gopichand's father in this film. Currently, the film crew is in Australia to shoot a couple of songs. The movie is a mass masala one with romance, action, family drama, sentiment, and comedy.

The established actors like Nayanatara are facing stiff competition from the younger lot like Tamanna. All these days it was Nayanatara, Namitha, Ileana, Trisha and Anushka who ruled the roost in Tollywood and Kollywood.

With the competition getting tough, Nayanatara hs now been forced to cut down her remuneration. She was asking for about one crore per film after the success of her Tamil Billa and she got her way. However Nayan has now been forced to take a cut in her remuneration by as much as 20-25 lakhs.

Nayanatara has realized that in order to remain in the competition she has no option but to agree to a cut in her remuneration. With this decision, more producers are now planning to sign her up for their films.

Tamannah in the Hindi remake of KICK

If the sources are to be believed, Siddhartha and Tamannah starrar Koncham Istam Koncham Kastam is getting ready to remake in Hindi now. Rajasri productions, which is known for big family dramas like Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hai and Vivah is all getting ready to produce this film.

Nallamalupu bujji is the Co-producing the film. Though the cast and crew are yet to be finalizedm it is being said that Tamanna may play lead lady role in the Hindi version also. The crew details are yet to known.
