Shriya has to kiss Vikram 17 times

At the recent audio launch of Kandasamy, the trailer of the movie was screened with the kissing scene featuring lead actors Shriya and Vikram. According to sources in the industry, when the scene was being shot with the two stars at MRC Nagar in the city, Shriya took 17 takes to get it right, before the director was finally satisfied.

Towards the end, the frustrated actress walked off the sets claiming she hadn’t been informed about this scene beforehand, and didn’t want to do any more of it. A lot of coaxing and persuasion by director Susi Ganesan and co-star Vikram, was required before Shriya returned to the shoot

Varudu In Bangkok

After a gap again, Varudu resumes shooting at Bangkok from the 29th of this month for around a week after which the unit will move to Hyderabad. According to sources there will be no second heroine, and even if she is there she will be limited to a few scenes or a dance number.

AP gets its first woman Home Minister

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has rewarded his sister P. Sabita Indra Reddy by elevating her as the State home minister, making her the first woman to hold the post.

Incidentally, Sabita Reddy’s late husband Indra Reddy too was a Home Minister in the N.T. Rama Rao’s Cabinet in 1994-95.

Sabita Reddy was Minister for Mines and Geology in the previous Cabinet.

Meanwhile, senior ministers K. Rosaiah, Dharmana Prasada Rao, N. Raghuveera Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmaiah retained their old portfolios Finance, Revenue, Agriculture and Major Irrigation respectively.

K Raghavendra Rao chooses Ileana

As known to everyone, K Raghavendra Rao is getting ready to direct a film featuring Manoj as lead man. Lakshmi Manchu, Mohan Babu’s daughter is producing it. Ileana, one of the busiest heroines in current Tollywood has been roped in to play the female lead. Nayanatara opposite Balayya in B Gopal's Film

Several producers and directors to arrange the combination of Nayanatara and Balakrishna but none could succeed so far due to some unavoidable and unknown reasons. Finally, the combination took shape in a film to be produced by Paruchuri Kireeti in his forthcoming production. Nayanatara is one of the female lead, another one is to be selected. The film would be directed by B Gopal, who gave blockbusters in Balakrishna’s career like Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu. Manisharma is being considered as music director for this movie. The film is most likely to go to sets in August

Ileana with Manoj

Ileana is likely to be paired up with Manoj in his next movie. K Raghavendra Rao is going to direct this movie and Lakshmi Manchu will produce it. Incidentally, Ileana is currently working with Vishnu for the same banner for YVS Chowdary directed Saleem movie. Manoj’s latest movie Prayanam is all set to release on 29 May.

Jagapathi Babu into politics?

Actor Jagapathi Babu with his co-actors Hamsanandini, Neelima and Shraddha Das held a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday to mark the success of his latest film Adhineta directed by V. Samudra (released on April 24). Jagapathi Babu, who plays the role of a politician for the first time in this career, said that the film inspired him though he did not know much about politics. It helped me understand politics and what manifestoes are all about, he said, adding he is happy that the film is running to packed houses in Visakhapatnam in the second week too. However, he politely turned down questions on whether he would enter politics, stating that he himself was not clear about it. Director Samudra, who was with the actors at the press meet, said the film helped in an image makeover for Jagapathi Babu and ranked among his hits like Gamyam and Sivaramaraju. Paruchuri Brothers' dialogues were a big success comparable to Eenadu, Tagore and his own Evadite Nakenti. The film would have been more useful to people if it had been released before elections, he added. Producer Radha Mohan, cinematographer Prasad Babu and Suresh of Sairam Films were also present.

“Bobbili Puli” with Balayya

Jejamma to pair up with Surya

After the success of “Arundhati”, Anushka is now getting ready to pair up with Surya of “Ghajini” fame. The film is titled as “Singam”.This film is going to be directed by Hari. Earlier also he has directed two films with Surya like ‘Aaru’ and ‘Vel’ in Tamil which were later dubbed into Telugu language.The movie is being produced by Pick Pictures along with Studio Green. Devi Sri Prasad is going to compose the music.

Raja and Namitha’s ‘underwater romance’

Raja and Namitha is going to do a very sizzling romantic scene in Jaganmohini. What is more, they would be romancing underwater. Namitha, the queen of oomph, plays the title role in the movie and Raja and Namitha have gone under training for this sequence. This under-water sequence is to be shot in Mumbai from May 10 - 12th. Balakrishna’s Daughter Marrying Naga Chaitanya?

In what is being seen as one of the most path breaking and significant moves, if all goes well then it could well be that Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna and Akkineni Nagarjuna will become ‘Viyyankulu’. And the man to make that happen is none other than Chandrababu Naidu, as per grapevine.
Sources close to Nara and Nandamuri family say that CBN has been urging Balayya to get his second daughter Tejaswini married to Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya. The idea is to group Balayya, Nag, Venkatesh as one and pit them against Chiru and Rajasekhar Reddy in the future. This would also mean that the Daggubati, Akkineni, Nandamuri clans will come together to canvass for election 2014 if TDP is not able to make it to power this time. Devi Sri to debut as actor?

Tollywood's most sought-after music composer and playback singer Devi Sri Prasad is reportedly making his foray as an actor with fiery-eyed bad guy Ajay's ongoing film Sayyata, directed by debutant K.R.K. Pawan.
According to reports, Devi Sri will play the second male lead in Sayyata, which also has charming beauty Charmi in the female lead. However, some sources close to Devi Sri rubbished these rumours and said he is currently focusing on his music only and not any acting.
The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad himself. Produced by Nalluri Rajasekhar (maker of Yamagola Malli Modhalaindhi) under the banner of Frame Entertainments, Sayyata has just completed the talkie part.
