Rs 75 lakhs HMTV set for Anjaneyulu

Ravi Teja- Nayanathara starrar Anjaneyulu has been getting shot here in Hyderabad at Rama Naidu studios. Rs 75 lakhs HMTV office set has been erected at the studio floor. Producer Ganesh said that the unit is shooting key scenes in the set and the shooting will continue until 15th May. And latter the unit will head abroad for canning songs. “Anjaneyulu title is very close to Andhraites. We are getting positive response for the title. It’s a complete entertainer with mass and entertainment elements,” said Ganesh Babu with media. Yuvatha fame Parushuram is directing this film.

Bhumika- Navdeep’s Yaagam completed

Navdeep- Bhumika starrar Yaagam completed its shooting. Hot actress Kim Sharma is playing another important character in this film. P.A. Arun Prasad is the director of this film which is being produced by Raju and Praveen. The shooting and the post production work of this flick have been completed and the film is heading to hit screens all over the world. “Bhumika plays an air hostess in this film. While Navdeep and Kim Sharma work in a bar. This story belongs to these three characters. The story revolves around their relation. It’s a love story with mass entertaining elements. Yaagam will soon hit screens,” said the producers with media.

Venkatesh and Trivikram combo select Priyanka Chopra

Venkatesh who has recently signed a movie which will be directed by Srinu Vaitla has taken a step further and simultaneously signed a movie with a hard-hitting subject. This movie is said to be scripted by Trivikram Srinivas and will also be directed by him.
Trivikram Srinivas is presently busy filming his much delayed Varudu with Mahesh Babu. Meanwhile, according to the latest film nagar grapewnie, Srinu Vaitla’s movie with Venky was presently paused due to some budget reasons. But it may again resume its shooting from May 1st week. The shooting of Venky and Trivikram Combo will be starting from September this year.
According to sources, a script has been finalized which deals with a young man visiting Mumbai city. Fortunately, Venky falls in love with a Hindi film star and then starts a twist to the story.
Some sources reveal that Priyanka Chopra has been finalized for the role and she has given her 45 day call sheet to complete the movie. If all goes ell accordingly, then the movie may be released in December.

Chiranjeevi will produce the movies is future

Pawan Kalyan, who is taking rest with his family after a busy schedule of political campaigning, has disclosed some facts about Chiru’s future plans. The handsome man of tollywood has disclosed that Chiranjeevi will never retire from films. He added that, his elder brother came in the film industry on his own and has achieved success with his hard work.
Reacting to brief question poised by a media channel representative he politely said that his elder brother will always remain in the film industry and will act and in future may produce films. Presently, Chiranjeevi is seen in a guest role in the film “Magadheera” and he will match some dance steps with his Son Ram Charan and Mumaith Khan in one of the songs.
It is a fact that Chiranjeevi has disclosed that he will stay connected with his fans through his message oriented films in future. But as his political life looks dull and pale, he may again opt for the commercial movies as a revenue sources. Journalist B.A.Raju, director Krish get Dasari Awards

Best Film Journalist award instituted in the name of Dasari Narayana Rao was announced to noted film journalist B.A.Raju for the year 2008. B.A.Raju who has been serving the film industry as reporter, editor and PRO over two decades is to be honored for his contribution to the film industry as journalist. The award carries Rs 1 Lakh Cash prize and a memento.
Along with the Best Film Journalist, two more awards are also given on May 4th – Dasari’s Birthday. Best Director Award would be given to Krish for his film Gamyam while Srikanth Addala of Kotta Bangaru Lokam fame would be honored Best Director (Debut).

Anushka Washed Away Naga Chaitanya

What’s it about!
Billa (Prabhas) is an international don who operates from Malaysia. Billa has his own gang – Ranjith (Supreet), his moll Lisa (Namitha). On other hand, Maya (Anushka) joins his team with a mission to kill Billa as he finished off her brother (Subbaraju). Indian police try to nab him and his Kingpin with the help of Interpol Police (Raghu aka Rehman). ACP Krishnamurthy (Krishnam Raju) is deputed to crackdown Billa’s activities and he succeeds when he pins down Billa in a chase. After Billa’s death, Krishnamurthy tries to uncover the entire Billa network and replaces a Billa looka-like Ranga (Prabhas), a petty thief in Vizag, in his place. Ranga is able to do the job and provides all the info to Krishnamurthy but in a shootout, the police officer is killed by Devil, the original mafia don. The rest of the movie is how Ranga finishes the mission he left with.

Analysis

This is remake of Billa - a Tamil film (which itself was remake of Hindi Don). Director Meher Ramesh presents the movie in a very stylish manner. He succeeds with the able help of cameraman Sounder Rajan in making it a very slick flick. Billa has chic look, cool visuals, rich production values, and stylish hero (Prabhas) and some good skin show by Anushka. The movie is an escapist action drama with technical glitz. But has little substance. Except for the climax, the movie is faithful remake of the original Billa / Don.

Major part of the movie is shot in Malaysia and car chases and action sequences in that country are good. In fact, choppers and fancy cars are heavily used in the movie and also some not-so exposed Malaysian locations bring a very sophisticated look. Prabhas has never looked such dashing with his well-tone body. First half is good and fast-paced but the second half lacks the fizz. Manisharma fails to make any impact through his music.

The movie mainly scores in department of cinematography, glamour quotient, and slick presentation.

Performances

Prabhas has done dual role for the first time in his career. In the character of flamboyant don, he looks so dashing and debonair. Suits, Ray ban glasses, and his gestures all are cool. In the role of Ranga, he does some comedy. Veteran Krishnam Raju does the role of a police officer and a younger actor should have portrayed the character. Anushka is sexy and her slim figure is enticing for men. Her bikini act has

short span in the movie. Namitha in her overgrown size lacks sex appeal. Her glam is off-putting. Hansika in an item song is disappointment. Neither her song is hummable nor her dance moments are sexy. Raghu aka Rehman as the Interpol officer is adequate.

Music by Manisharma is big letdown. Except for the Bommali Bomalli Ninnu Vadala song, none of the songs are worth watch or to listen. Dialogues are not effective. Technically it is so good. Cinematographer Sounder Rajan takes all the credit for presenting it chic. Director Meher Ramesh handles his job perfectly. He deserves credit for making it very rich in short time. He should have taken care on second half and more on music department.

Bottom-line

Billa is all about style and gloss. First half is good but second half lacks any interesting moments and it drags on too. Stunning cinematography, rich production values, glamour, and action stunts are main highlight of the movie. Music is its weak aspect. On the whole, Billa is okay.

Allu Arjun’s birthday party turns political

This birthday (April 8) is unique for Allu Arjun. Till now, he celebrated his birthdays with much fun and frolic at pubs. He enjoys partying at pubs and other favourite hangout places in Hyderabad regularly. On birthdays, he usually enjoys it with his gang of friends by throwing party at a pub. This time, he is going to miss all this fun as he would be making his political entry on that day. He is starting his canvassing for his father Allu Aravind who is fielded in these elections on Praja Rajyam Party in Anakapally Parliamentary constituency. Allu Arjun starts his political pracharam on his birthday at Anakapalli. Later he will also tour in Palakollu assembly constituency where Chiranjeevi is contesting for Assembly.

J D turns villain to Nag's son as well

JD Chakravarthy has been roped in to play villain role in Naga Chaitanya’s debut film Josh. JD also did the negetive role in Nag's classic Shiva and now he is doing main antagonist in Nag's son's maiden movie.

Karthika, daughter of yesteryear’s heroine Radha, is making debut while Dil Raju is producing it. Buzz is that Nag may appear in a cameo role. Hot sensation Anushka is doing an item song with Naga Chaitanya in this flick. Bollywood music director Sandeep Chowtha is scoring the music for this film. Newcomer Vasu Varma is the director. Most of the film shooting will be done in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. The movie will be released in June, 2009.

Allari Naresh romances with Kamna

Allari Naresh is finally getting known actresses to romance with. So far he has paired up with newcomers in majority of films he has done but these days he has got established actresses like Meera Jasmine (in Akasharamanna). Now, he has been paired up with Kamna Jethmalini in a new flick being directed by his father EVV Satyanarayana. The film has already begun its shoot and the movie is produced by veteran producer D Ramanaidu.

Earlier a newcomer Disha Pandey was selected for this film but she was sacked from it after two days of shoot. In her place, Kamna has stepped in. The film is a comedy entertainer and is slated for late summer release.

Magadheera to release in April itself

Magadheera which is the second movie of Ram Charan Teja is said to release in the month of April itself. According to close sources to director Rajamouli, the movie is taking its shapes in Kompalli, Hyderabad and some sequences are being filmed on Ram Charan teja. The crew ill again meet on Sunday in order to can some more sequences and the movie is all said to be ready by April 15th. According to sources, Chiranjeevi has ordered Rajamouli to hurry with the film in order to get released before elections.

Some sources report that Rajamouli was planning to release the movie in May mid month, but due to the force and objection from Megastar, the movie is being released in April itself.

Magadheera is in the making from the past tow years which has become a major drawback to Ram Charan’s film career. So, in order to clean up this time lapse and to maintain the name of Megastar among the film audiences the movie is fastened to be released before elections. Kajal Agarwal will be the lady love of Ram in this movie and Keeravani is the music director for this film.

Junior NTR’s presence missed by all Published by admin

Junior NTR who is presently recovering from his accident injuries is said to be away from shooting schedules for around 6 weeks. Though the doctors have confirmed that after a 10 day rest, he will be back for film shootings; his mother has revealed that her son will not be available to the outside world for around 6 weeks.

It is said that Jr NTR’s mother is shocked with the accident and is said to be in deep depression. She also reported to a media source that her son met with an accident due to “Nara Drishti” and so will not participate in political campaigning or film shootings from now on.

Meanwhile, TDP sources are missing the young tigers campaigning as the star attraction of their party was Jr NTR. Harikrishna, Tarak, Kalyan Ram nor even to say Balakrishna had the knack to attract the public towards the party. But Junior NTR’s presence was just enough to fetch the valuable votes of the voters.

Meanwhile, Congress and PRP are a bit relaxed as Jr NTR punching dialogues were making their lives difficult a bit. Now, since the young tiger is back in the resting cage, they can continue their usual fight in between each other.
